Philosophy for Children Lessons

During the Thinking Week, the school’s NANO (affective) education lessons were replaced by Philosophy for Children (P4C) lessons.

The lower primary pupils were introduced to concepts on moral courage and self identity via stories like The Shy Ostrich and Frederick, which were more accessible for the younger pupils. Under the P4C framework, lower primary pupils also learnt about asking good questions and being non-judgmental towards the views of others.

The upper primary pupils were introduced to moral dilemmas and thought experiments such as Heinz’s Dilemma and the Ring of Gyges. The pupils engaged in small group discussions and guided class reflections on their opinions.
